Our product

The core principle behind the MAINFURL in-boom furling system is the ability to handle the mainsail on yachts with a shorthanded crew in a safe and simple way.

The furling boom comes with a unique furling system, available in a manual MLS configuration with an endless reefing line or in an electric configuration with a Reckmann BFE motor built into the mandrel. The electric system is operated through pushbuttons.

Both configurations are built with safety and effortless furling as the guiding principles, with both configurations being operated from the safety of the cockpit, making the boom safer and simpler to handle.

If the wind increases and you need to reef the mainsail, you can easily furl the main to one of the battens, so the batten is right under the mandrel – very simple and safe.

MLS System by MAINFURL

Experience a new innovative generation of manual in-boom furling. The MAINFURL Locking System (MLS) eliminates jamming, removes load on the furling line, adds a built-in braking system for safer and stronger reefing, while using a continuous splice that any rigger can make.

Technical description

01
Mast Track System

Mast track system and headboard cars to suit any demand within our product range come with all needed parts especially made to suit any aluminium or carbon mast. The mast track system is designed so the sailmaker can design an optimal luff curve in the main.

02
Chafe Guard

Chafe guard in an elegant slimline design, along the boom opening with two grooves one for sail cover and the other for sun awnings.

03
Furling Line

The exit of the endless furling line on the manual MAINFURL is placed at the inboard end, in the middle underneath the boom, enabling it to be led to any of the stand-up blocks at the cabin roof and further to the cockpit. This feature also gives the possibility to remove the boom from the yacht without cutting the reefing line. It also means that the furling line has a firm grip on the furling drive inside the boom, which means less wear on the line.

04
Vang

The MAINFURL vang is an option and made to fit any yacht up to approximately 50’, with a maximum return force of 7500 Newton. We also make the MAINFURL boom to fit a hydraulic vang of any brand.

05
Main Sheet Attachments

The number of main sheet attachments and position are made to fit all demands. The attachments are spectra loops.

06
Mandrel

The mandrel is raised at the outboard end of the boom. This way the boom shell will be lower when the mandrel is in furling position.

The Mainfurl Boom Cover
The cover is built in Weather max, and you can have it in either black or light grey (silver). It is fitted into the grooves on the chafe guards, and it stays permanent. It is operated by a endless line at the mast, so it is easy to handle on big boats and catamarans where it is hard to reach the boom. Together with the cover, the boom comes with the sporty looking integrated end cap.
